March, 2003.
It's been a while since I last updated this gallery. Well, let me plead guilty of laziness. However, episodes 9 & 10 have forced me to rouse from my nap and add this page to the gallery.
The reason why, as you can see below, is obvious: these episodes are beautiful, and they're definitely the best since the beginning of the OVAs.
There are so many wonderful pictures to show from these two episodes that I've been forced to split what was to be a single page into two.
As always, you can get the images in their full size and glory by simply clicking on them.
Once you're done watching this first half of episodes 9 & 10's pics, don't forget to check out the rest!
Music from the Hades Image Album have been used more extensively here, and you can feel it in the emotions rising along with the melody.
We're back to the best days of Saint Seiya, and I'm happy for it, more than I can say.
It's now time for the tragedy to fully unfold.

There are moments when one must confront the path laid before oneself.
Virgo Shaka is the guardian of the 6th House along the Great Stairs that are the only way to reach the Goddess Athena. Slowly, he leads his enemies to the heart of the small temple--to the garden of the Twin Sala. The Twin Sala, under which Buddha is said to have passed away.

The time has come face fear and griefs--griefs, some old, so old they have thinned into distant threads of flames, others terribly new and raw, burning with despair. |

To make the impossible choice to go into battle against companions one had thought lost forever. |

|
To fight and to hurt. |
|
|
|
To kill. |

|
And even though Shaka hurts, hurt so much that his body screams for relief, for oblivion, he refuses to fall. The threat to Athena must be stopped, and it will be. |

Tenbu Hourin. The frightful technique leaves Shaka's enemies powerless to either defend themselves or flee. There is only one way out.
A terrible possibility that will forever taint the souls of those who will attempt it. |
